Leicester Open Space panel reorganizes plan goals, approves January minutes.

Open Space & Recreation Plan Committee · Meeting of March 4, 2026

Leicester Open Space & Recreation Implementation Plan Committee reorganizes master plan structure. Chair Matt Fournier presided over the session, which consolidated Goal Two objectives to prioritize park accessibility and ADA compliance, with members noting that Towtaid Park is the only town facility currently meeting federal requirements. The committee approved January minutes by a 4-0-2 vote and designated Vanessa Lopez as the Conservation Commission representative to the Blackstone Regional Collaborative.

Members agreed to conduct a public survey to gather input on park improvements and flagged unresolved questions about camera monitoring at parks experiencing vandalism. The committee plans a joint meeting with Parks & Recreation and will reconvene May 6, 2026.
