Leicester Public Library Trustees reorganized their board at their June 23 meeting, electing Maureen Whitney as Chair, Bruce Craven as Vice-Chairperson, Regan Fortune as Treasurer, and Ingrid Hathaway as Secretary. The board approved a new DVD borrowing policy allowing patrons to borrow films for two weeks with one automatic renewal period and temporarily closed the water fountain in the children's room to address misuse. In building matters, the board approved a $9,996 contract for security software maintenance and authorized preliminary studies for plexiglass protection of the Bascomb portraits.
The library's fire sprinkler system underwent its required five-year inspection, with Colby Fire replacing two valves.
